Man Sitting by the Lake

When Time Changes Everything

There are moments in life that arrive without warning. Moments measured not in years — but in hours.

92 Hours is Rich Schiesser’s first memoir, written after decades of structured, technical writing and later fiction. This book is different. It is personal. It is reflective. It is real.

In just ninety-two hours, life shifted. What followed was not spectacle — but clarity. This is a story about love, responsibility, decision, and meaning when time feels impossibly short.

Why This Story Matters

This memoir speaks to anyone who has:

  • Faced an unexpected turning point
  • Had to make decisions under emotional weight
  • Loved deeply—and learned what that love demands

92 Hours invites readers to slow down, reflect, and sit with the truth that even the shortest windows of time can carry lifelong meaning.

What Readers Are Saying

Last night I finished reading 92 Hours. It took me 15 hours to gather my thoughts. Overcoming sentiments I knew I might have but didn't realize to what degree, I needed the time to allow my emotions to settle. Whether you have suffered the loss of someone close to you, or know someone who has, I highly recommend picking up a copy of this extraordinary account. Opening his heart and sharing very personal experiences, Schiesser’s memoir about his teenage son gives the reader the gift of insight, empathy, relatability, and comfort. Five stars are not enough!

Vicki-Ann Bush, author of the award-winning Alex McKenna series

92 Hours by Schiesser is a five-star, heart-wrenching memoir of his teen son’s suicide. This book is an exceptional read, telling of a father’s fun time with his son, then taking the reader through loss and afterward. It is for everyone, especially those who have family, friends, or know someone that have suffered a loss, or those who are going through severe depression or a rough patch in life and are crying for help. The story not only tells of signs to look for but also gives the reader solace.

S.H. Montgomery, award-winning author of Whisper in the Blood.
